Notebook Upgrade




NEXT MONDAY I´LL BE PICKING YOUR ENGLISH NOTEBOOKS. THEY ARE GONNA BE EVALUATED FROM 1 TO 20 POINTS. HERE IS THE CRITERIA:
1) ORDER AND ORGANIZATION.( INCLUDING CLEAR HANDSCRIPT).
2) COMPLETE ACTIVITIES DEVELOPED
3) PASTED QUIZES AND CORRECTIONS
4) ORTOGRAPHY
5) COVER WITH NAME, GRADE, SUBJECT, TEACHER AND YEAR.
6) NO PAPERS LEFT IN BLANK WITHOUT ANY ACTIVITY.

Movie Workshop. V for vendetta




Now that we´ve just finished the movie “V for vendetta”, here is the corresponding workshop. This workshop will have a total score of 30 points (20 points=written work. 10 points= oral sustentation next Tuesday during speaking quiz). You have to complete all the tasks and present them on your notebook.

1)“Remember remember the fifth of November”. What did really happen the fifth of November in England’s history? Research and find out what happen in that day. One name will give you the answer, “Guy Fawkes”. Who was this man?

2)Describe how the movie showed society. How did they behave? Which were the main issues that were affecting them? How did the government threat society?

3)How did you see government censorship in the setting of the movie? Support with examples. Can you think about any country in the world that is facing the kind of government censorship that you could perceive in the movie?

4)Describe Evey Hammond character throughout the movie.

5)What is your interpretation of the following quotations taken from the movie?

2. "People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.”

6)What conclusion can you take after watching the movie?

7)Watch v´s speech. What kind of issues did V describe ?. What was his intention?. Which were his plans?

Activity# 9- Cartoon analysis

1) Look at the cartoon and think about the following aspects: What does the image suggest you?. What is the main intention of the author? What is the author trying to compare?. Write down here on the blog your opinion about the cartoon.

Hey there Guys!
As we said the last class, writing is going be one of our main focuses this period. We discussed some of the characteristics of Pro-Con- compositions and it is supposed you´ve working on ideas for our fist formal composition. Considering this, here is what you have to do:

Task Description:

1) Research. What is a paragraph?. Find out on book s or web sites what a paragraph is. Write down on your notebooks the main characteristics of formal paragraphs.

2) Choose one of the topics that you selected and write your introductory paragraph. Take into consideration the structure of this kind of paragraph. Remember that you are free to chose your topic and also, consider the fact that you must be well informed of the topic you´re going to discuss. Once you have your introduction done, PASTE IT ON THE BLOG.

3)Deadline: Sunday -6 pm

4)If you have any question don´t hesitate to ask.

Activity# 5- Listening Workshop- Present Tenses

Hello Dear Students:

According to the results you got on your test, I´ve prepared a review covering the most common English grammar tenses. As it is we´ll known in English learning, we start from the simplest to the hardest. Considering this, this workshop will cover the present grammar tenses. Of course, I´m not the only one uncharged of that, you´ll be assigned presentations in order to reinforce each topic. You´ll be informed carefully about that later.

Let me take advantage of the opportunity to warn some people about the grades that I´ve been taking so far. There are students with a lot of missing notes and we are almost in the middle of the period. For those people, it´s time to buckle down and catch up on those missing tasks. Don´t tell me I didn´t warn you because I did it.
